Over recent months the University launched an extensive national search for a new Director of Parking and Transportation Services. With the assistance of a diverse search committee representing staff, administration, faculty and students, we have successfully concluded the search. I am pleased to announce that Jack Molenaar has been appointed as Director of Parking and Transportation Services. His appointment is effective Monday, April 11, 2005. Former Director Robert Spear retired on January 13, 2005 after 21 years of exemplary services to the University.
Jack previously held the position of Transportation Planner for the University and has been employed with the University since 2004. With over seventeen years of transportation planning and transportation improvement experience and a BA in Urban Studies from Montclair State University , he is exceptionally well qualified for the job.
The search committee and I learned that Jack has already won the respect of his colleagues and members of the student body. He is an outstanding facilitator who is extremely knowledgeable of the challenges and vision of the University community. I am confident that we have selected an experienced and energetic leader to continue the enhancement of the Parking and Transportation Services.
Thanks also to Acting Director Kim Williams for her leadership during this period of transition, and to all members of the Parking and Transportation Services Department who continued to provide services to the Rutgers Community.
Please join me in welcoming Jack Molenaar as the new Director of Parking and Transportation Services.
