Subject:   Promotions in the Office of Administrative Affairs

On July 1, 2003, the Office of Administrative Affairs began a reorganization to ensure better use of our resources and to improve processes and communication within our organization and across the university community. I am pleased to announce the promotions of several individuals who have been working in interim positions. For more information about a specific area, please click on the links provided below.

Facilities and Capital Planning

Kyu Whang, has been promoted to vice president of Facilities and Capital Planning. He will continue to oversee the following offices: planning and development; facilities operations and services, project administration, and business administration; and real estate. This area has been reorganized to include all facility-related functions.

University Human Resources (UHR)

During the reorganization, all human resource-related functions were moved to UHR, creating a primary point for employee- and staff labor-related departments. Sandra Russell has been promoted to associate vice president of University Human Resources and will continue to have responsibility for human resources, staff labor relations, sexual assault services, organizational development and leadership, personnel counseling, and harassment compliance and equity.

Business Services

Michael Quinlan has been promoted to associate vice president of Business Services. He will continue to manage dining services, housing, environmental health and safety, mail and document services, the RUConnection Card office, the bookstores, and the golf course.
